Reaching Up - Reaching In - Reaching Out

Emmanuel Baptist is a thriving and diverse community of real people experiencing real life together. Sundays are a time where we gather together to grow and give of what we have, but our lives consist of much more than attending church on Sunday. We want to be the church every day of the week.

We are located at 310 N 800 East

Meet our Pastor

Pastor Don Woody has been our pastor since 2018.  He was born in Southern Idaho and grew up in the middle of the Rocky Mountains in Northwest Montana. He married his high school sweetheart, Rachel in 1991.  After their high school graduation and wedding, both Don & Rachel left for basic training in the army.  During his time of service in the United States Army, Don surrendered into the Gospel ministry in May of 1993.  In 1998 he accepted a call to serve as the youth pastor at Sunrise Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas.  He soon was called to pastor the First Baptist Church in Glenns Ferry, Idaho where he served faithfully for 13 years.   In 2011 he and his family were called to pastor Greencastle Baptist Church in Greencastle, PA.   His time there was a tremendous blessing and he and his wife left many friends and family when he accepted a call to pastor here at Emmanuel in Hyrum, Utah.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and a degree in Secondary Education from the College of Southern Idaho. He has three wonderful children, Rebecca, Chelsea & David and four grandsons.   He enjoys history, hiking, camping, riding his motorcycle and sports.  He has coached at both the middle school and high school level in Track & Field and Basketball.  He has been serving with the Cache Country Sheriff’s Office as their Chaplain since Feb of 2020 and has recently received his official Chaplaincy endorsement from the SBC.
